Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
This policy explains the information tvt needs to function and the choices you have.
Information tvt Handles
To run your account, tvt handles your sign-in identifier and, when provided by Apple or Google, your email address. We also store the profile information you choose, including your display name, handle, bio, profile photo, favorites, and visibility setting.
Your library can include shows, movies, episode progress, watch history, ratings, reviews, lists, notification preferences, and history import results. Social features can store follows, comments, likes, GIFs or provider-hosted episode stills, public watch activity you explicitly choose to share, reports, and blocks.
When you contact support, your email app is prepared with the app version and basic device, operating system, and locale details so we can help diagnose the problem. You can edit that email before sending it.
How We Use Information
We use this information only to provide tvt: authenticate your account, display your profile, sync and back up your library, calculate your stats, power social features, send the notifications you request, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
We use Firebase Analytics for basic product measurement, such as app opens, sessions, feature interaction, device and operating-system details, approximate region, and an app-instance identifier. We do not connect this Analytics identifier to your tvt profile. Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalization, and Apple’s Identifier for Vendors are disabled.
We do not sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Services That Help tvt Work
tvt runs its own service to sync and back up your library and to power profiles and social features. That service runs on Fly.io and stores its data with Supabase: your account, library, and social content in a database, and profile photos and comment images in file storage, both in Frankfurt, Germany. tvt uses Firebase for sign-in, push-notification delivery, basic product analytics, crash diagnostics, app configuration, and app integrity checks. Apple or Google may process sign-in information when you choose their sign-in method. TMDB provides show and movie metadata and artwork, TVmaze provides character data and images, GIPHY provides GIF search, and JustWatch provides streaming availability where shown. Trailer thumbnails and external trailer links are provided through YouTube. These services process requests needed to provide their features under their own terms and policies.
Storage, Visibility, and Retention
Your library is stored on your device and synced to tvt's service under your account, so you can restore it on another device. Information stays available until you remove it or delete your account, subject to reasonable technical and safety retention needs. When tvt moves data to a new system, a backup of the previous copy may be kept for a short period before it is deleted.
A public profile lets other people see the profile and library information described in the app. Sharing normal watch logs in the Everyone activity feed is enabled by default for public profiles and can be turned off at any time; a rating or mood is included when available, but imports, restores, comments, likes, and follows are never shared. Feed events expire after 90 days and are removed when you turn sharing off or make the profile private. A private profile hides your library from other users, but your handle and anything you post in shared areas can still be visible.
Deleting your account removes your account, profile, cloud library, social connections, and likes. Existing comments are emptied and anonymized so conversation threads remain understandable. Profile photos and comment images uploaded by the account are deleted. Safety reports may be retained when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect the service.
Your Choices
You can edit your profile, visibility, and Everyone feed participation from Profile, manage blocked users from Settings, remove individual content in the app, and permanently delete your account from Settings. You can also sign out and remove the local library from the device after it is backed up.
Children
tvt is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and address it.
